Springfield Arsenal Musket
Some markings are possibly illegible but believed to be a Springfield and is clearly dated 1824. This was manufactured post Revolutionary War and pre Civil War. The overall length including the bayonet is 73 in. Without the bayonet it measures approximately 58 in long it appears to have the original ramrod. Varnish on stock appears to be original. It is untested by us but the mechanism appears to function as it should with two different positions and when trigger is pulled it releases. Shows really well has some surface wear and rust as picture. As found on the farm near Princeton New Jersey.
