Pair Of William Cafe (1758-1767) Candlesticks - Includes A Pair Of George Iii Silver Candlesticks Made By William Cafe, 1759. Candlesticks Are Monogramed And Measure Approx. 12.5”h And Weigh Approx. 43.2 Ozt Has A Heraldic Crest, Which We Believe Is Scottish, Has An Engrailed Chevron Symbolizing That This Was The Second Son Of The House With Three Phoenixes Being Issued From Flames. Two Above, One Below. It Has Traditional But Also Unique Lines Of Division To The Heraldry. In The Lines Of Division, It Is Divided By The Pale, But Uniquely It Is Also Divided Quarterly On The Right Side Of The Crest. There Are On The Right Side Eagle With Closed Wings Alongside Boars Heads That Appear To Be In The Scottish Pattern. This Pair Of George Iii Silver Candlesticks Was Made By William Cafe, 1759 And We Believe That It Was For The Second Son Of A Scottish Nobleman.
