Football Card: Norm Van Brocklin Bowman 1951 - Football Card: Norm Van Brocklin Bowman 1951  This card is the key to the 1951 Bowman set and it features a legendary quarterback.  In his 12 years at quarterback, Van Brocklin led the league in passing three times, throwing for a total of 23,611 yards and 173 touchdowns. He was one of the league's best punters, leading the league twice in that department, averaging over 40 yards per punt for his career. Van Brocklin would win NFL championships with the Los Angeles Rams and the Philadelphia Eagles in 1951 and 1960, respectively. In 1951, in one of the best performances of his career, Van Brocklin threw for 554 yards. The 1960 championship was especially satisfying for Van Brocklin was named NFL MVP that year. This nine-time Pro Bowl selection was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1971. This card measures approximately 2 1/6 inches by 3 1/8 inches.  Norman Mack Van Brocklin, nicknamed ”the Dutchman” , was an American professional football player and coach who played in the National Football League for 12 seasons.
