Black Banjo Player Original Sketch Dated 1878, Stowe - This is an original sketch of a black man sitting in a chair playing a banjo.  This is not a print or lithograph. It is a pencil and ink drawing.  It is dated December 27th, 1878 with the initials L.D.W..  Ms. Stowe Sketch Class is written under the initials.  The work is framed and matted, and measures 19 1/2 by 16 1/2 inches.  There is a crack in the matting on the upper left side which does not affect the image.   Refer to the description and photos for the condition.
