Kiss Alive II RIAA Presentation Record with Provenance

  Kiss Alive II RIAA Presentation Record: Provenance Ric Aliberte Collection. As stated on the presentation plaque this award was presented directly to Ric Aliberte, for his work achieving the Gold success of the album. The record has remained in his possession and collection until this time.

According to RIAA “ KISS - America's #1 Gold Record Award Winning Group of All Time”

About the Album: Alive II is the second live album by American hard rock band Kiss, released on October 24, 1977, by Casablanca Records. Coming off of a period of extensive touring, Alive II received a huge fan response and critical acclaim, reaching the No. 7 spot on the Billboard 200.

About the Artist: Kiss is an American rock band formed in New York City in January 1973 by Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss. Well known for its members' face paint and stage outfits, the group rose to prominence in the mid-1970s with its shocking live performances, which featured fire breathing, blood-spitting, smoking guitars, shooting rockets, levitating drum kits, and pyrotechnics. The original and best-known lineup consists of Stanley (vocals and rhythm guitar), Simmons (vocals and bass), Frehley (lead guitar and vocals), and Criss (drums and vocals).

 From the RIAA website:

RIAA’s historic Gold & Platinum Program defines success in the recorded music industry.

Originally conceived to honor artists and track sound recording sales, Gold & Platinum Awards have come to stand as a benchmark of success for any artist—whether they’ve just released their first song or Greatest Hits album. In the eighties, the development of CDs increased music sales once again and popular music went Platinum more than once. So we developed the multi-Platinum Award.

 About the Awards :

The Gold & Platinum Awards have been a pinnacle of success in the music industry since 1958. The awards below are earned by artists who have met rigorous standards, and recipients join the ranks of the most iconic recording artists.

 RIAA Gold and Platinum Certifications : Units and Date Established ;

Gold 500,000 1958 ; Platinum 1,000,000 1976 ; Multi-Platinum 2,000,000 (in increments of 1,000,000 thereafter) 1984.
