1970s Vintage Poly Chromatic Carved Horse - This is a wood and amalgam, hand-carved, hand-painted folk art horse, in a raised pose with a display mount (vintage original to the piece). This unique work is 26” long, 35” high, and 8” wide. Some restoration prior to the 1970s (per the provenance of the collector who had this piece). The detail in the mane is carved carefully into the wood, while the paint and the saddle design are exquisite. The tail is real horsehair, affixed within the work. The wood is solid and substantial. The condition is great, with one 3” crack in the amalgam coating around the neck that does not affect the structural integrity and is cosmetic.Provenance: The Kerhonkson Estate Condition Report We review every item to determine basic condition.
