In 1885, Haberle Congress is released, becoming Haberle’s flagship lager for more than seventy-five years. Benedict Haberle founded the Onondaga Brewery (which later became the Ryan Brewery)in Syracuse NY . By the late 1890s Habele was the top Brewery in the Syracuse area and well positioned to survive the Prohibition era, lasting as an active micro brewery until the 1960s. Early 20th century metal beer crate from Haberle Congress Brewery in New York. Sturdy piece with patina of decades in service. Front and back of the crate feature embossed lettering: Haberle Congress Brewing Company Syracuse NY : and the side is embossed :Congress Beer: below the handhold.Dimensions 19.5 inches long, 13 inches wide and 11 inches high.
