Copper Plate: 1937 The America : Ship
Etched copper plate. The plate surface is paraffin protected. Image under paraffin reveals an etching portraying the nautical scene of the defending of America's cup 1851-1930. 17 x 16.75 inches. The plate comes with an example of the print produced, with shop notes from the 1940s by the original printer. NOTED: a condition of rust-colored marks over the paraffin coating is visible in images. It is unknown if this condition issue has impacted the plate below the wax.
