Bee Hive E.S. & B. Stoneware Jug 5 Gallon - Five-gallon Bee Hive shaped E.S. & B. Stoneware jug from New Brighton, PA. Salt glaze and natural imperfections from the firing process. The jug is 18 inches high with a spout and has a 10 .5 inch diameter base. Shipping weight approx. 22 pounds unboxed. No cracks or hairlines, there is a small chip at the lip edge ( see photos please). A fine example of 19th to early 20th-century stoneware. Collectors will appreciate the bold cobalt blue stenciling against the sandy clay toned glaze as being particularly well presented on this piece.
