Set of Two 19th Century Etched Daggers w/ Sheaths, 19th C. - Set of two excellent 19th century daggers, each with a fitted sheath and decorative etched blade. One dagger is marked Robert Lingard Sheffield at the ricasso and has a polished double edged steel blade, shaped pale handle, brass tone guard, and red leather sheath with gold tooled trim and metal mounts. The second dagger has a double edged Damascus etched blade decorated with the patriotic phrase ”The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave, ” along with a pale carved handle and black leather sheath with gold trim and metal mounts. Measurements: Blades 5 1/4” and 6 1/2” Materials: Steel blades, Damascus etched steel, pale carved handles, leather sheaths, brass tone mounts Condition: Surface wear, tarnish, and age related marks throughout. Sheaths show scuffs, finish loss, and wear from handling.
