Spanish Comb Morion Helmet, 17th C. - Spain, 17th century. An iron comb morion helmet with rounded hemispherical skull, raised central comb, and broad swept brim rising to pointed terminals at the front, back, and sides. The helmet is formed with riveted construction and a darkened iron surface throughout, retaining a strong sculptural silhouette associated with Spanish and Continental European infantry armor of the late Renaissance and early modern period. Measurements 15”L by 9”W 11”T Material: Steel Condition: Fair antique condition with oxidation, pitting, surface wear, dents, edge losses, cracks, and small perforations to the brim. Interior with wear and oxidation.
