Spanish Iron Dragon Door Knocker, Late 16th Century - Spanish, 16th century. A cast iron door knocker of zoomorphic form, modeled with a stylized animal or mask like head with prominent eyes, squared muzzle, pointed ears, and large curling horn form loops. The surface has a dark reddish-brown oxidized patina throughout, with carved or cast linear details to the horns and face. Measurements 6” Material: Cast Iron. Ex. Giustino Collection Condition: Wear consistent with age and use. Oxidation, rust, surface wear, pitting, and age-related patina throughout. Stable overall, with wear commensurate with outdoor architectural use.
