Dani Warrior's Cuirass in Woven Rattan, circa 1800s - Papua New Guinea, Dani Peoples circa 1800s. An extremely rare 19th century high ranking Dani warrior's cuirass of woven rattan preserved in remarkable condition. These cuirasses were worn in New Guinea as protection against arrows and as badges of rank. This rare example is in excellent condition with lovely patterns interwoven and is intact.
