American Civil War Books, Signed by General O.O. Howard - First book a very rare book on life of General Lee signed by US Civil War Union General Oliver Otis Howard. General Oliver Otis Howard was a career US Army officer and a Union General during the Civil War. He lived from 1830-1909 and was buried in Lake View Cemetery Burlington Vermont. The book titled and inset with a silvered monogram of a roman solider in profile is titled (General Lee, Great Commanders by Fitzhugh Lee) Fitzhugh Lee was nephew and cavalry commander to General Lee. Further reading details the life of General lee and multiple illustrations including a (portrait of General Rover Edward Lee), sections of (Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland page 269), The (Battlefield of Gettysburg page 296), and a map of (Central Virginia, back of the book). Second book (History of the Confederate States Naby by J. Thomas Scharf) profusely illustrated and with book stamp from the (Ex-Libris Magel Baker). The book itself with an extremely high quality account of the struggle between the US Navy and Confederate States Navy. Marked as copyright 1886 printed by Rogers & Sherwood 1887.
