Rare Afghani Khyber Dagger w/ Scabbard, 19th C. - Asia, Afghanistan, Rare ”Khyber” dagger with scabbard, 19th century. Long straight single edge blade with a thick spine and single fuller to the uppermost section. Polished gilt copper and brass handle with ebony dyed avian-head form pommel. Light chiseling and engraving throughout handle with the brass spine in a series of geometric patterns leading to a cut brass section over the back of the blade. Very fine scabbard in leather over wood construction with a steel belt loop below the formed upper section for retention. Engraved large gilt brass panel with a series of like form geometric patterns and linear details. Size 29” L, blade 23” L Condition: very good condition with some denting and wear consistent with age and use
