Japanese Wakizashi Sword w/ Scabbard, Late Shinto Period 1680's - Fine Japanese Wakizashi sword with scabbard, late Shinto period circa 1680's. Unsigned to the tang with a fine very high polish single edge blade. Single upper filler. Copper blade collar with nice textured pattern. Tsuba or guard with pierced openwork of intricate bamboo foliage. Fuchi early with embossed band decorated with gilt finish. Ray skin grip wrapped with tightly woven cotton.
