African Knobkerrie, 20th c. - African, Knobkerrie club circa 20th century with a primarily a dark brown patina, smooth shaft, and flat end. Traditionally used as a weapon by the Zulu and other Southern African tribes. The word knobkerrie comes from the Dutch word knop (knob) and the Bushman and Hottentot word Kerrie (stick). They saw popular use even into the South African apartheid era with protestors and police. Size 26 1/2” L Condition: Good overall condition.
