Japanese Colonial Sword w/ Scabbard - Japan, appears to be Island Republic of Formosa Colonial Sword with scabbard. Gilt brass handle with a D-shaped guard and fitted pommel grip. The center of the handle with a triangular emblem and tightly wrapped brass wire over black dyed ray skin. Lower section of the handle with one downturned quillion and a hinged plate. Blade a long slightly curved single edge in polished steel with a single deep fuller. Leather wrapped wood scabbard with gilt brass. Size 33” L, blade 25 1/4” L Ex-USA Collection
