Germany, Luftwaffe WWII. A first model officer’s dress dagger with dedicated Damascus blade. Blade is a double edge magnetic Damascus steel, engraved with owners name "Hauptm. Franz Dietsch" between two eagles. Marked to ricasso (Paul Weyersberg & Co., Solingen). Above with the signature of Reichsmarschall Herman Goring & Separate (Fur Besondere Tapferkeit Im Luftkampf) translated to "For Exceptional Bravery in Aerial Combat". Nickel plated crossguard in the form of wings with double sided German military symbols. Original puffer pad (light fading), blue stained ribbed Moroccan leather grip wrapped in twisted wire. Pommel with the stylized German symbols in round disc form. Light fadding to the finish of the belt clip and chain. Belt clip reads (DRGM) and a makers mark (A) Size 19 1/4" L, blade 11 1/2" L
