American Civil War M-1840 heavy cavalry sword with scabbard. German manufactured. Gilt brass open guard with three bars. The handle in wood with twisted brass wire over. Single edge blade with a wide shallow fuller. Scabbard in all steel with a blackened finish. Size 42" L, blade 34" L
