Rare Colima Tomb Gopher Effigy Vessel - West Mexico, Protoclassic circa 100 BC - 250 AD. Rare figure of a gopher standing on four short legs, with mouth agape, almond shaped eyes, and short snout. Red-brown pottery with top spout, mineral deposits throughout as well as strong root marks. Size 8 1/4” L x 4 1/2” H ex-private New York, NY USA collection. Condition: Small chip to mouth, minor losses to the surface commensurate with age.
