English ”Back Action” Percussion Rifle, Circa 1850s - English London back action percussion single barrel rifle. Large bore octagonal to round barrel with some light brass inlay. Added brass and copper mounts. Replaced turned wood ramrod. Referred to as ”back action” because the mainspring sits behind the tumbler. Size overall 51” L, barrel 35” L Ex-California Collection Condition: Wear throughout with light cracking to stock, pitting and oxidization wear from time and use.
