Sulu Kris Sword w/ Silver Mounts
Southeast Asia, Philippines Archipelagos, South Sulu Islands. Screaming eagle pierced openwork ricasso with silver mounts and scrolling details. Laminated steel double edge wavy blade with signs of temper and use. Note one crack to the forward section. Gilt silver handle with bands of woven copper strands. Important round pommel with a flat top featuring a silver and copper inlaid panel. The pommel cap is engraved with a series of two squares over a 5-pointed star. Scabbard with wood construction and 6 bands of silver. Size overall 29 1/4" L, blade 21 3/4" L
