Asante Royal Chief's Gold Ring (14-18k, 20grams)
West Africa, Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire, Akan Cultures, Asante peoples mid to early 20th century. Very finely made gold ring with good weight and a well cast Akan bird/insect over a floral base. The bird appearing to carry two cylinders at either side with wings splayed and a wide tail. Beautifully cast piece of gold work from the Akan masters. This piece was Acid tested on a scratch stone which revealed 14k-18k color reaction consistent with genuine gold. Size 1" W x 1 1/2" H
