Philippines Bagobo Kampilan Sword w/ Scabbard - Southeast Asia, Philippines Archipelagos, Bagobo Kampilan sword with scabbard, probably late 19th or early 20th century. Single-edged blade of laminated steel with a light layer of mineral oil for preservation. The guard in gilt brass with geometric carvings. Handle in a straight grain reddish brown wood. Scabbard in a black wood with silver ends and protruding hair. Rings of copper and brass decoration over the scabbard with a section of traditional textile affixed under hair and breads.
