Elegant Japanese Tanto Dagger, Meiji Period 1868-1912
Elegant Japanese tanto dagger, Meiji Period 1868-1912. Elegant form with an excellent red and black speckled lacquer scabbard, removable silver inlaid snake knife. The scabbard features bronze gilt loop hardware and an iron chiseled sea tortoise riding clouds to the lower side. The Handle with a vibrant white skin wrapping and black lacquered wood ends. The center of the grip with an iron horse to either side in stride and gilding to the eyes. Size 13 3/8" L, blade 7 3/4" L
