English 2-point Bicorn Chapeau Bas Cocked Hat - English 2-point bicorn chapeau bas cocked hat CHAPEAU BAS cocked hat, circa. 19th - early 20th century made by ”JAMES SMART / OUTFITTERS / 32 WALBROOK, LONDON / E.C.”. Beaver pelt covered with decorative braided accents and periphery edging. The hat has some edge wear with some loses. The exterior exhibits three strands of silver metal wire arranged in a tubular fashion that encircles a British button. The same silver colored metal wire adorns the front and rear of the hat with interspaced feathers dyed black. The silk lined interior is intact with the sweat band. A great hat for display!
