Chorrera Pottery Dwarf Effigy Vessel - Ecuador, circa 800 to 500 BC. Wonderful burnished ceremonial bowl with ovular rim depicted as a man. The figure sits with hands on his 'stomach' knees raised, and a serene expression. Incised designs to both his body and face, with almond slit ears and petite protruding nose. Size 6 1/2” L, 3” W ex-New York, New York collection, ex-Jacinto Santana collection acquired mid-1990s, New York. Condition: Lovely condition throughout, small drill hole to foot.
