Exceptional Georgian Khmali Saber Sword, 17th-19th c. - Very early Georgian silver lion or gazelle mounted scabbard and shamshir saber in the Persian fashion with wide early blade. Gorda style blade is so marked with typical opposing sun symbols (also marked to all mounts) and of a Damascus steel curved single edge, triple fuller and marked with calligraphic text opposite four opposing suns (possibly Tbilisi?). Possibly for a Khevseur warrior or Khmali type sword. Size 35 3/4” L, blade 25 1/4” L
