Early Republic Period Chinese Butterfly Bowl
Chinese Famille Rose butterfly bowl, Qing Dynasty, 4 seasons motif, various vibrant colored butterfly in bands throughout interior of bowl, outer flat rim decorated in traditional scrolling pattern, inner band of bowl with fruit bats and traditional seal mark. Exterior decorated in bamboo tree, shrub, cherry blossom, and flowers in seasonal styles. Export wax seal to interior of bowl. This lot includes a Chinese Antique Company "Hong Kong" Certificate of Antiquity dated June 1st 1985. 9 7/8" W x 3 1/2" H
Wong collection, Los Angeles, CA, US, Mr. Wong was a Hong Kong government translator and court interpreter and amassed his collection in Hong Kong during the mid-1900's-1978.
Condition: pitting to exterior bottom of bowl commensurate with age, extremely good condition
