Rare Sino Tibetan Clay Tsa Tsa Tablet
East Java, Indonesia, 19th to 20th century AD. Clay press molded plaque for charm Gao box, used as a devotional tablet for consecrations and prayer. Often depicting fierce multi-armed tantric deities. This piece is likely Avolikteshvara - who symbolizes compassion and the promise of release from suffering in Buddhism. Size 3 1/2" H x 2 1/4" W, 4 1/4" H on included stand. See "Tibet a Lost World" by Valrae Reynolds of the Newark Museum, for parallel examples.
