Poto Congo Short Sword w/Magic Hide Handle - Sword pommel leather wrapped and in a bulbous shape, grip turned flattened metal, leather guard with iron and steel blade double edged with pierced openings to the ricasso, above the primary blade is cut in a wavy pattern and with bulbous tip. Size overall 23 1/2” L, blade 15 1/4” L. The Congo short was an important part of power and intimidation the Congo peoples would even use swords such as these during wedding ceremony as currency in the Goni Ngombe tribes. The pommel bulbous leather wrapped with Magic substances under the hide to give the sword its power. Condition: As-is with losses to pommel and patina throughout.
