One-Handed All-Steel Flail - Europe, Probably German or Polish, heavy all-steel one handed flail in the (style of the 15th C.) with a heavy spiked steel ball and chain with solid steel shaft. 33” L, pole 16” L, mace 5 1/2” L Depicted in art as a quintessential medieval weapon of nearly all European armies, spiked ball and chain are extremely rare and few examples other than 19th c. variants exist and often represented with a wood shaft all-steel examples are far less common.
