BILL GIRARD, NATIVE AMERICAN WOMAN - This lot features an original sculpture of a Native American woman by listed artist, Bill Girard circa 1980s. Mounted on board to display and hang, the full piece measures, 40'' H x 15'' W x 8'' D. Born in Reno, Nevada, Bill Girard became a sculptor in realist style of figures and animals including Indian subjects. He earned a BS Degree in 1958 from San Diego State University and also attended Arizona State University and Scripps in California. Commissions include champion show dogs, Indian pow-wow dancers and portraits. He has exhibited at the Sculpture in the Park shows at Loveland Colorado from 1987 to 1997 and the Mountain Oyster show in Tucson, Arizona. Girard has also been a teacher at Loveland Art Academy. He lives with his family in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
