”STRANDS OF HISTORY”, ORIGINAL SUSPENDER CABLE OF THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE - This lot features a  collectible souvenir made from an original suspender cable of the Golden Gate Bridge, sold as a ”Strands of History” memento. The original suspender cables were replaced between 1972 and 1976. Some of the removed cables were preserved and sold as souvenirs to help pay for the repairs.  The piece consists of a section of seven bound cables mounted on a wooden base with a commemorative plaque. A gold-colored railroad spike is also attached to the display.
