OVERSIZED FOUNDRY MOLD, 19TH CENTURY - An antique oversized wooden foundry mold circa 19th century. Made by the Link-Belt company out of Chicago and Philadelphia, this mold features wonderful patina and wear throughout as shown in photos. Includes a mounted metal chain to hang and display this wonderful piece of history. The Link-Belt brand originated in 1874 with an idea from William Dana Ewart, an Iowa farm equipment dealer. Ewart patented a detachable chain link that could be repaired in the field, instead of having to take the entire chain back to a shop. The company operated plants in Chicago, Indianapolis, Philadelphia, and San Francisco. This foundry mold measures 47.5” H x 47.5” W x 5” D.
