R.S. PRUSSIA, ROYAL VIENNA, & TRINKET BOX - This lot features a variety of collectibles pieces including a trinket box (with one small hairline crack shown in photos), a platter by R.S. Prussia, and Royal Vienna Beehive. The largest platter by R.S. Prussia measures, 2'' H x 12.5'' W x 6.75'' D. R.S. Prussia, or R.S.P., was a porcelain factory established by Reinhold Schlegelmilch in Suhl, Germany, in the 1860s. The factory was known for its hand-painted, often gold-embellished porcelain, and was particularly popular in the United States between 1888 and 1910, according to China and Crystal Repair. The first mark used by the Royal Porcelain Manufactory in 1744 was actually a line drawing of the outline of a shield. But when turned upside down, it looked like a beehive. Collectors today call the mark a beehive and the porcelain, “Royal Vienna.” The factory closed in 1864.
