Old South Church Bank - Rare Example - Slots in Roof - Unknown American Maker. Produced in the Late 1870's. The Collection of Frank Kidd. The Old South Church is a magnificent neo-classical structure that still stands at the corner of Washington and Milk Streets in Boston. The nave and main body of the church were completed in 1729 and the majestic clock tower was added in 1770. Over the many years of its operation, some of the most famous American patriots were parishioners there, including: Benjamin Franklin (as a boy), Samuel Adams and Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams. This particular example of the bank demonstrates the rare variation with four long slots in the roof. Condition: Excellent (Roof Restored).
