Trick Pony - Cast Iron Mechanical Bank - Made by Shepard Hardware. Buffalo, New York - Circa 1890. The imagery for this bank clearly draws from the great wooden horses of the carousel. Note the blue and cream-colored cylinder below the horse's belly. Presumably, this houses the hydraulic mechanism that operates the up-down motion of the horse. And a truly magical wood horse is he, one that can bow his head and drink water from the trough. Condition: Pristine Plus Condition.
