Bidspirit auction | Yellow Panorama - Cast Iron

Yellow Panorama - Cast Iron Mechanical Bank - Made by the J. & E. Stevens Company. Cromwell, Connecticut - Circa 1880's. From the Steckbeck Collection Auction. ”The Panorama Bank is one of the most beautiful architectural banks ever created. With its dramatically angled roofline, its recessed apse and doorway, and its elaborate window work, not to mention its pronounced stovepipe round chimneys, it makes for an extremely handsome edifice. The action of the Panorama Bank is also very compelling. In the center of the building's facade, you find a glass enclosed window that protects a cylindrical paper wheel. When coins are deposited through the slot found on the rear of the roof, the paper reel, with its five different landscape scenes, cycles through the images like a viewfinder. This particular specimen of the Panorama Bank is hugely outstanding condition. It retains some of the finest lettering and window detailing we have ever seen.” Condition: Near Mint Condition.
