Rare Horse and Trainer Mechanical Rocking Toy - Made by Althof, Bergmann & Company. New York City - Ca. 1875 - 10 3/4” Long. With its airy silhouette and its magical rocking action, this toy is another true mechanical wonder. There are only 3 or 4 extant examples of this important clockwork toy. This specimen is totally original with zero restoration. It was discovered by a German collector in Sweden in the 1980's. It found its way into the prestigious Pressland Collection and was ultimately acquired by Tony Haradin. Condition: Pristine Plus Condition. Works well.
