”New York” Paddlewheel Steamboat - Made by the George Brown Company. Forestville, Ct. - Circa 1875 - 14 1/2” Long. Robert Fulton's invention of steam powered boats in the early 1800's immediately and permanently transformed the ways in which business and leisure travel were conducted on America's rivers and waterways. Quite understandably, children became enthralled with all types of toy boats. George Brown's ingenious patented design for a mechanical steamboat offered lucky boys and girls a beautiful toy to be played with right on their parlor floor. We have never before seen an example of this toy in such remarkable condition. It even retains the original flag. Condition: Near Mint Condition.
