American Tin Confectionery Wagon - Either G. Brown or Merriam Mfg. Company. Connecticut - Circa 1875 - 19 1/2” Long. Purchased from Jay Lowe - Late 1990's. This fanciful peddler's wagon was offered for sale in three different sizes; 11”, 15” and 19 1/2”. Features such as a pivoting driver's canopy and opening storage compartments at the back were standard for this model. Though this vehicle is stenciled with the word ”Confectionery”, other examples may read ”Yankee Notions”, ”Perfumery” or ”Whips & Cigars”. This is a particularly superior example of this large elegant toy. Condition: Pristine Plus Condition.
