Clown and Jumping Poodle - Made by the Gong Bell Company. East Hampton, Ct. - Late 1890's. The dynamic action for this elaborate circus theme bell toy has no equal in the hobby. A system that involves a cog with a serrated edge was devised to put the dog's jumping motion into effect. As he jumps through the hoop, the greater weight of his hind quarters cause the trained canine to spin around and ring the bells found at both ends of the toy. Very few un-repaired examples of this magnificent toy have survived into the modern age. Most likely, this is the finest among them. Condition: Pristine Condition.
