Navy battleship Maine sank in Havana Harbor under mysterious circumstances, political pressure to retaliate forced President McKinley into a war that he had hoped to avoid. The ten-week skirmish known as the Spanish-American War had the stated aim to aid Cuba to gain independence from Spain. The bank clearly demonstrates U. S. Naval supremacy over the outdated Spanish fleet. A wooden missile launched from the cannon accurately hits its target every time, causing the mast to fall backwards. In the same moment, the penny is deposited. This is a positively sensational mint and boxed specimen of the U. S. and Spain bank. Condition: Mint Condition with Original Box.
