Upright Piano Bank with Rare Music Box Mechanism - By the E. M. Roche Company. Chicago - 1890's - 7 3/4” Long. From the Edwin Mosler & Frank Kidd Collections. Over the years, a small number of piano still banks have been discovered that have been modified to accommodate a music box feature. It is not known whether the Roche Company actually produced this bank in this upgraded deluxe format. Or whether early toy bank enthusiasts made the adjustment for the music box. In any case, the coin activated musical feature is considered very significant and desirable. Condition: Excellent and Works Well.
