Mule Entering Barn - Cast Iron Mechanical Bank - Made by the J. & E. Stevens Company. Cromwell, Connecticut - Mid 1880's. The ”Mule Entering Barn” bank portrays a comical vignette from late nineteenth century rural farm life. A powerful brass spring effectuates the action. Pennies placed between the mules hind legs are deposited when he flips forward into the barn. At the same time, a small dog runs out from beneath the floorboards. Condition: Very Good Condition.
