Extremely Scarce Design Pattern for the General Butler Still Bank - Made at the J. & E. Stevens Company Cromwell, Connecticut - Circa 1880's. There are very few known extant specimens of wood patterns by the Stevens Company. The level of artistry deployed in the making of this particular pattern is mind-blowing. The swollen curving forms of Butler's frog-shaped belly and the bank's base would require an unmatched mastery of both wood soaking and carving. Condition: Excellent Condition. Losses to base.
