French Sailor in a Rowboat Toy - Unusual Articulated Maritime Toy. French - Circa 1900 - 12 1/2” Long. This charming maritime themed toy has everything going for it. The body of the rowboat is made of pressed cardboard. The sailor's hands & feet, along with the oars, are made of wood. His handsome face and blue cap are papier-mâché and the wheels are made of cast lead, typical of a French toy from this early period. The colors are still richly saturated and the condition is truly remarkable.
