Teshuvos Chasam Sofer – Choshen Mishpat/Even Haezer/Likutei Teshuvos, Wien 1897. First Edition, Personal Copy of R. Yisroel Freund and his son, R. Moshe Aryeh Freund - Teshuvos Chasam Sofer – Choshen Mishpat (1897), Even Haezer (1891), and the sixth volume containing “Likutei Teshuvos” (1882), First Edition. Personal Copy of R. Yisroel Freund and his son, R. Moshe Aryeh Freund.  On the title page, is an interesting inscription written by R. Moshe Aryeh Freund during his youth, attesting that this volume was owned by his father, as follows: “Belongs to my father the renowned pious sage… R. Yisroel Rabbi of Rudna…”. It is apparent from the inscription that it was written during the period of WWI. Please refer to the Hebrew description for a transcription of the original Hebrew inscription.  Also seen is the personal stamp of R. Baruch Freund on the flyleaf and on the title page.  R. Moshe Aryeh Freund (1903–1996), Av Beis Din of the Eidah HaChareidis in Jerusalem from 1979 until his death. He was born in Bonyhad, Hungary, to R. Yisroel Freund, the local Av Beis Din, and grandson of the Admor of Nasod, R. Yehoshua Freund. Prior to the outbreak of WWII, he served as Rosh Yeshiva and Av Beis Bin in Satmar, Romania. He was the sole survivor of his family, as his wife and nine children were murdered by the Nazis. Rebuilding his life after the war, he immigrated to Eretz Yisroel in 1951, leading the Satmar community in Jerusalem and authoring the seminal halachic work Ateres Yehoshua, by which he was affectionately known. Renowned for his piety, zealotry, and unyielding commitment to traditional Judaism, he influenced generations of students and was succeeded by R. Yisroel Moshe Dushinsky and R. Yaakov Fisher upon his passing at age 92. In good condition. Bound in original binding, spine missing. Some pages loose. Page 57 of Likutei Teshuvos lacking. Page 56 is loose and partly damaged.
